Lithuanian Border Using Queue Management Service

On 1st of March 2014 the Queue Management Service EVIS started operating at Medininkai, the Lithuanian – Belarusian border checkpoint. EVIS is being developed in cooperation between Lithuania and Estonia. This is the second road border checkpoint in Lithuania to use this service. The first border checkpoint was opened at Kybartai, the Lithuanian – Russian border checkpoint, last year on the 1st of July and approximately 150 000 vehicles have been processed by EVIS.

It is possible to make an online pre-booking to the virtual border crossing queue on the website: www.lithuanianborder.eu . It is also possible to register in the live queue on-site.

The new service is being introduced step-by-step to allow for a smooth and convenient transition period for drivers wishing to cross the border. The next border crossing checkpoint is planned to be opened on the 1st of June 2014 in Lavoriškes.

The service development, implementation and support is procured by the Directorate of Border Crossing Infrastructure under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The information system is being developed in cooperation with Estonian company GoSwift OÜ and Lithuanian company UAB Ekskomisarų Biuras.
